for Veterans living with Dementia or Alzhiemer's or other needs

In addition to the support below and our extensive care home support packages, we have also launched the Veterans Dementia Butterfly to highlight that a veteran lives in the house and display it on their doors and notes. Please contact us for details of these.

BEFRIENDERS

Many veterans living in care find it hard to relate with others who have not served or are not interested in their service .

Others lack regular family contact or friends

We will help you to recruit volunteer befrienders who themselves have served in the Armed Forces or Merchant Navy

We can also work with the service association that links in with the resident to encourage visits and sometimes for them to go out to association events

REMINISCING PACKS

We are currently collating memory packs to be used in Care Homes based around the Veterans service in the forces including personalised fact sheets in relation to the branch of the services or the regiments. We would need to know what branch they served in and dates and we will do our best to work some magic

We will also be creating generic packs

EVENTS FOR VETERANS

Throughout the year there are special events and days that will be suitable for Veterans in Care and we can help you to arrange these. We are creating a fact sheet of events during the year and ways of marking these and also how to make them extra special and help with press releases afterwards

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Across the community there are many opportunities to engage with the armed forces community. We are able to advise you accordingly, along with the do's and don'ts
