Trained volunteers will conduct regular visits with veterans to build rapport. These visits may involve engaging in conversations, participating in various activities, and reflecting on military service experiences.
VETERANS REMINISCING SESSIONS
Participants in this group have a variety of experiences and memories from their time in the services, and the group offers an opportunity to discuss service life with others with similar backgrounds. Attendees may bring artefacts from their service, and the team will provide items to facilitate different sessions.
CARER SUPPORT GROUPS
Supporting individuals who care for loved ones is essential, particularly within families of Veterans. We organise sessions in which those living with dementia participate in structured activities while their carers attend a separate session offering refreshments, opportunities to share experiences, and access to support from peers and Dementia Advisers.
SOCIAL OCCASIONS WITH OTHER VETERANS’ FAMILIES
Veterans with dementia encounter distinct challenges from their service. To help, we provide community groups for veterans and families, led by trained volunteers, offering meals, outings, and trips suggested by members.
DEMENTIA ACTIVTIES FOR VETERANS AND FAMILIES
