Veterans Dementia Support is a volunteer-led organisation staffed by trained professionals who offer dedicated support to veterans living with dementia or Alzheimer’s, as well as their families and carers.
Dementia is characterised by a range of symptoms, such as impaired memory, frequent forgetfulness, disorientation in familiar environments, mood fluctuations, confusion, and repetitive speech or actions. As the condition progresses, it may also impact an individual's language abilities and behaviour.
Each individual with dementia, along with their family and friends, may have different experiences with the condition. Many encounter challenges related to changes in independence and public perceptions associated with dementia.
Veterans Dementia Support offers comprehensive advice and guidance, facilitating opportunities for veterans and their families to connect through an expanding network of friendship and carer support groups.
