As a volunteer led community organisation, we rely on the time, skills and talents of volunteers to provide person centred support for Veterans and families that we work with in the local communities across the Country.
We are looking for volunteers who want to learn more about how people living with dementia are affected and how their families cope. If you want to learn more about Dementia and help us to reach out to help and support our Veterans living with Dementia and their families then we are here for you.
We do have a formal process for recruiting volunteers, but don't be put off - its all about personal safety and the safety of those who we help. Together, we can work to make a real difference to the lives of Veterans living with Dementia and their families
We are currently looking for Volunteers in Winchester, Andover, Eastleigh, Basingstoke, Southampton, Romsey, Gosport and surrounding towns and villages.
SUPPORT GROUP VOLUNTEERS
Veterans Dementia Support UK is a community-based organisation supporting Veterans living with Dementia and their families. We are seeking volunteers to support Veterans in the community through conversation, interaction and attending local support groups for Veterans living with dementia/Alzheimer's/memory loss and their families.
We are currently looking for volunteers in Winchester, Romsey, Andover, Southampton, Eastleigh, Gosport, Fareham, Basingstoke, and surrounding towns and villages. Our volunteers will have the chance to become a Dementia Friend through a short training session and learn more about dementia and how it affects others.
Veterans who have Dementia/Alzheimer’s have many diverse needs than others with Dementia from struggles faced as the result of active service and we will help volunteers to understand these issues.
Skills
We are seeking Volunteers who are interested in working alongside those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and how dementia affects their lives.
The volunteers need to have a:

TRUSTEES – Hampshire/Southern England
Veterans Dementia Support UK are seeking Trustees to help lead the service and support the development of the wide-ranging support provided to Veterans Living with Dementia and to their families.
Our Trustees will be working together to help the organisation to grow and provide support to Veterans and their families.
As a new organisation, we have had positive feedback already from service organisations and veterans themselves and we need to build on this at a workable pace.
Whatever skills you can bring to Veterans Dementia Support UK it would ensure our veterans are able to access support online, in person and through valuable resources.
