Dementia Counselling and Emotional Support Service

Veterans Dementia Support UK offers person-centred counselling for people living with dementia, as well as their families, carers and loved ones, at any stage of their dementia journey.

A dementia diagnosis can bring a wide range of emotions, challenges and uncertainties. Our compassionate counselling service provides a safe, supportive and confidential space to talk, reflect and receive emotional support tailored to individual needs.

Whether you have recently received a diagnosis, are caring for someone living with dementia, or are facing changes later in the journey, our experienced counsellors are here to help you navigate the challenges ahead.

We Support

  • People living with dementia at any stage of their journey.

  • Family members and loved ones affected by a diagnosis.

  • Informal and unpaid carers.

  • Former carers after a caring role has ended.

  • Individuals experiencing anticipatory grief or bereavement.

  • Veterans and members of the Armed Forces community.

  • Anyone struggling emotionally as a result of dementia's impact on their life.

Our Counselling Service Provides

  • One-to-one confidential counselling sessions.

  • Emotional support and a non-judgemental listening ear.

  • Help managing anxiety, stress, depression, and feelings of uncertainty.

  • Support with coping strategies and emotional resilience.

  • Guidance for relationship and family challenges.

  • Bereavement and loss counselling.

  • Signposting to additional health, social care, and community support services.

  • Flexible support delivered in person, by telephone, or online where available.
