Dementia Counselling and Emotional Support Service

Living with dementia affects more than memory—it can affect emotions, relationships, confidence, wellbeing, and daily life. Dementia Counselling and Emotional Support Service provides a safe, confidential, and compassionate space for anyone affected by dementia.

Our service is available to people living with dementia, family members, partners, friends, carers, and those who have been bereaved as a result of dementia.

 

Whether you are coming to terms with a diagnosis, supporting a loved one, facing caring responsibilities, or coping with loss, our trained counsellors are here to listen, support, and help you navigate the challenges dementia can bring.

We Support

  • People living with dementia at any stage of their journey.

  • Family members and loved ones affected by a diagnosis.

  • Informal and unpaid carers.

  • Former carers after a caring role has ended.

  • Individuals experiencing anticipatory grief or bereavement.

  • Veterans and members of the Armed Forces community.

  • Anyone struggling emotionally as a result of dementia's impact on their life.

Our Counselling Service Provides

  • One-to-one confidential counselling sessions.

  • Emotional support and a non-judgemental listening ear.

  • Help managing anxiety, stress, depression, and feelings of uncertainty.

  • Support with coping strategies and emotional resilience.

  • Guidance for relationship and family challenges.

  • Bereavement and loss counselling.

  • Signposting to additional health, social care, and community support services.

  • Flexible support delivered in person, by telephone, or online where available.

Our Commitment

We understand that every dementia journey is different. Our aim is to help individuals feel heard, understood, and supported, while promoting emotional wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life. No one should have to face the emotional impact of dementia alone.
