Supporting Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Veterans living with Dementia and those who care for someone living with dementia
Veterans Dementia Support is dedicated to supporting serving personnel, veterans, and families from the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force, regardless of rank, role, trade, or length of service. We provide compassionate support for those living with dementia and for the family members, friends, and carers who support them every day. You only have to had served one day to be able to access our support.
Many older Veterans do not class National Service as being recognised. It is fully recognised
We recognise that military service shapes lives in unique ways. Whether an individual served for a few years or a full career, as a Private, Able Rate, Aircraftman, Non-Commissioned Officer, Warrant Officer, or Commissioned Officer, every person's service is valued and respected. Dementia can affect anyone, and our aim is to ensure that no member of the Armed Forces community faces the journey alone. We also remind people
Our services are designed to provide practical assistance, emotional support, and opportunities for meaningful connection. We support individuals who are concerned about memory changes, those awaiting assessment or diagnosis, people living with dementia, and the families and carers who often face significant challenges alongside their loved ones.

Understanding the Military Community
For many veterans, military service forms an important part of their identity. The experiences, friendships, discipline, and sense of purpose gained during service often remain throughout life. Dementia can present particular challenges as memories change, routines become difficult, and independence is affected. Families and carers may also face emotional and practical pressures while adapting to a loved one's changing needs.
Our approach is built on dignity, respect, and understanding. We recognise the sacrifices made by serving personnel, veterans, and their families, and we are committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals feel valued, heard, and understood.

To improve the quality of life of people living with dementia within the Armed Forces community by providing understanding, practical support, companionship, and access to the services they need. We aim to reduce loneliness, strengthen resilience, empower carers, and honour the contribution of all who have served.
